Has there been any discussion here on the ABC TV miniseries " Big Sky"? It is supposed to be based on a book by one of my favorite authors, CJ Box, "The Highway" .
My first impression was disgust, because the title "Big Sky" suggests the program is about Montana, my home state. The characters and action are like nothing I know about Montana. It is filled with California style scumbags, including the fictional "Montana" State Trooper Legarske.
So I got the book and read it. It's my least favorite CJ Box book, but I think the producers took some liberties with the characterizations.
Since I viewed the series segments aired so far, I saw a National Geographic program about the burgeoning drug problem in Northern Montana, which seems to be dominated by traffickers from Mexico and Canada. After seeing that, I wondered if I weren't all wet in my dislike of this "Big Sky" TV series. "Big Sky" is more about human trafficking, but drug traffic is just as objectionable in my opinion.
I'd love to hear from anyone who has seen the series, including the upcoming conclusion episodes starting this month. I want to see the good guys win this battle, but so far the good guys are pretty clueless.
