Jamie,

We'll know in a few hours. If GA goes to the Dems, Wall Street will freak out like it always does because it's used to trillion dollar deficits and free money from the Fed.

We may not know for a few days. The vote from today will be counted first and it may be heavily tilted towards the Republicans because they have been the ones voting mostly on Election Day. If the vote from today comes close to a million voters, that is said to favor the Republicans. We know that the early vote heavily favored the Democrats and that will probably take a couple of days to be counted. I have read that the post office may be a factor again with a significant number of ballots mailed in the past few days still hung up in the system. They had a real nice January day to get out to vote so if the count from today doesn't meet expectations, then you can say that the Republican Party infighting hurt them.

I agree there will be a reaction no matter who wins. But Wall Street would like split government so things will probably go badly for at least a bit if it looks like the Democrats will win. But I think Biden is more middle of the road that will be good for business so, eventually, things will be better. But, not knowing how things will go and with retirement coming at the end of April this year, I have enough cash reserves to ride things out.

The bigger risk, I think, is that with the Republicans favored to lead the Election Day voting and that vote getting counted first, and then if the Democrats win eventually, it will make it seem like the election was stolen to those who are easily swayed by the talking heads on the right. Hopefully, they don't get violent and cause lots of injuries. Hospitals here are full with COVID right now.

I think the Democrats can win Loeffler's seat. She is not very likable and nobody had voted for her for senator before and this is her first campaign. Perdue/Ossoff will be trickier. No matter who wins, I am glad that I won't be seeing any more of those stupid commercials. There were so many scary socialism ads out there, I was beginning to think that both Ossoff and Warnock had their middle names secretly changed to Trotsky.
