There has been no free market in the United States in the last 10 years, because every downdraft is met with enormous liquidity spikes by the Fed. Liquidity suppresses volatility via derivatives. This, in turn, causes a futures ramp in SP500. Of course what happened in DC was bearish, but every dip is bought by the market robots. Basically the market is absent and prices do not reflect reality, like in communist countries. In the United States stock market is being constantly pumped. Without the Pump the meltdown in March would continue until Sp500 fell to 900, 600, then 400. At some point we enter special monetary hell reserved for banana republics, but we are not there yet. Such policies enrich Wall Street while destroying the real economy, and the disconnect grows every year.
