all the people who accepted jobs from him and then either fought him directly or bad mouthed after they left. He consistently hired the wrong people.
Every one of them is establishment - either actual, or wannabe. Those are people who seek their fame and fortune in or around the government. Their live’s strategy is to benefit from the established pecking order and feeding troughs — not to destroy them.
