| | | Now, they're in the catbird's seat.
Scott Adams has today correctly described the direction of public protest. Once held as central to liberal political movements (which, of course, yielded such horrors as Kent State and Chicago):
"From now on, it appears that every legitimate protest will be infiltrated by bad actors perpetrating violence and destruction. That's the beginning of the end of public protest. Free speech is already half gone." -- Scott Adams
The loss of free speech is tragic. An honest media is essential to our national existence, that is now long gone. And Cancel Culture puts a knee on the neck of any free speech by individuals.
Anyone can now be accused of association with "Q-Anon" which is a non-existent organization with non-existent members in non-existent places. Q-Anon can be used to tag any person anonymously as one who has no right to live and be free. Ashli Babbit was one such person. Her death by a questionable gunshot during the Capitol Riot is rationalized by, "She was Q-Anon."
Public protest, once the Left's ultimate form of challenging "the man", is now gone. "Four kids at Kent State were Q-Anon. Pssst. Pass it on. What they had to say was meaningless."
Of course, protests approved by the Left -- BLM for example, are harmless because there are no bad actors: There are only legitimate protestors. Bad actors are determined by the Ministries of Truth, Love, Peace, and Plenty. And Cancel Culture can annihilate the problems.
