Two blasts from the past - QNTM and GEMS.

QNTM broke out of its trading range on Friday after WDC's earnings report cleared the last of the bad air in the sector. Wall Street seems ready to ease back into the DD sector, where QNTM has the best numbers. Could be worth a small play with a target near 30, the next resistance level.

GEMS - CEO promises to exceed 1996 revenues with their 4Q 1997 report. If they do, 4Q earnings now projected at .14 would come in well over .20. This still leaves GEMS with slightly declining year over year earnings, but the surprise could boost 1998 estimates and put GEMS back on track into the high teens.

Any opinions around on these two?

Also, anyone following PTVL? An Internet story stock with big losses ahead, but the spin in the latest Barron's could put it on the NTKI/SPLN/ONSL track to the 20's. Haven't decided myself yet.
