They are always a step ahead. You've likely been notified of the need for a "real ID" (travel, work, etc.,) because the driver's license (DL) has been co-opted at the state level (anyone who wants one gets one - and a bonus voter registration to boot). When they agree to DL for voter ID that means they are already prepared for the next step which is......? Certainly the Gordian Knot would tighten at some point to be untieable/cuttable?
