Completely agree! But those are interim appointments only (240 days?) and he would have needed to keep after it. Likely, as an outsider, he was listening to "advisors" and selecting permanent appointments who were plants.

Looks like Obama's recess apptments forced this issue to the SCOTUS in 2014 and limitations were put on....10 days of adjournment. This is really on McConnell's head and anyone who grants him the slightest bit of slack over this is Uniparty dung. During PDJT's entire term, no House or Senate adjournments were enacted.....specifically for this reason; Senate adjournment is primary.

First of all, the Constitution does allow the president to temporarily fill what it calls “Vacancies that may happen during the Recess of the Senate” without Senate approval. Trump could do that if the Senate was in a single extended recess—if it was adjourned.
