that police officer was charged with the responsibility of protecting the people behind him in that room. that was his job. to protect innocent people from rioting intruders intent on doing them harm. the officer had no reason to believe otherwise. I guess he could have waited. the police could have opened the door and said, com'on in fellas. and then when the people who were told to take cover on the floor were taken hostage, or whatever else COULD have happened, the police could have said .... "dang! I shoulda used my firearm. I shoulda done my job. I shoulda done was I was trained for". are you really serious??!!!!?
