The "Peacock Fiasco" -- it's a little like trying to watch TV with one eye closed. It's very distracting.

When you E-mail to complain, you get back a form letter essentially saying that they, the professional designers who probably know little about the stock market and spend zero time watching the tape, know better than the viewers. From the long list of cc's on the reply I got, a great number of people are complaining.

Since CNBC has a monopoly with many viewers, there's little we can do except maybe mention it over and over again if we call in for some reason like to any of the stock advice shows, e.g., "what's your outlook for IBM and by the way, the new graphics are okay but the peacock logo sucks!" -- this would be like the annoyingly effective Howard Stern telephone attack that cropped up some time ago. Also, writing the key on-air people might help as they certainly have more pull than the hapless viewer.
