It was projected that mail in voting would lean heavily towards D, Trump thought he could disrupt and discard mail in voting by messing with the postal service. In May 2020 he appointed longtime Trump ally and fundraiser Louis DeJoy as the new postmaster general for the US Postal Service removing automated mail sorting machines, removing drop boxes, restricting how many there could be, one example a Texas County was allowed "one." He tried to have Pence overturn the electoral college results. Pence informed Trump that wasn't constitutional, he had no authority, it was just a procedure without any legal power. Yet Trump insisted he do as he was told. Senators Cruz and Hawley purposely spread the lie that the VP and Congress could Constitutionally overturn the certified electoral college votes. Many other things coming out like robo calls orchestrated by Alabama's Attorney General asking patriots to march on Congress. IMO Trump had a failed election steal, followed by a failed coup.
