Policy likely to emerge
or
What we have today

=Whatitisism

They linked together in my mind I guess when Brennan mentioned policies likely to emerge.
When we joined SI, or shortly thereafter, the law gave us Section 230, it was emergent law.
Today, we are living in the world that emerged from the early net and that law is still here.
Whatitisism is accepting what it is may not have been what was planned or what policy intended.
The Internet is center stage right now, it wasn't knocking off ABC for viewers back then.
I think it is crystal clear, Twitter banned Trump, he was warned, he didn't get it, no big deal, just a website.
Walmart can refuse to sell any item with a confederate flag, no big deal, just a store.
No new law is required to allow the government to control website content, this isn't China.
Trump had a specific remedy to the handle #DiaperDon, he could have sued the hashtag originator.
He might have won, that would have become clear during discoveries.
Twitter did not call him #DiaperDon, an algorithm treated it like any other tweet, we did the rest.
It was never a national security threat and it isn't now, the threat is the violent insurrectionists criminals.

And that is what it is today. No one is preventing anyone from doing what ever they want to do.
But almost everyone has a set of rules they would like others to follow.
And if you don't want to follow someone else's rules then you will get banned.
Just to be clear, a conservative is someone who clings to the past, nothing more.
Traditional isn't religious, religious isn't conservative.
In Canada we have laws against hate speech, exhorting hatred against an identifiable group is illegal.
Many activities that America tolerates are criminal activities here.
A lot of speakers find themselves challenged once they are announced, the net is like that.
If you are a racist or you are making homophobic comments it will come out, you will be refused
You won't find an example of a traditional person or someone who is averse to change being refused.
You will find may neo-nazis, fundamentalists, anti-semites, racists and bigots being refused or charged.
They are not in any way a "part of the political spectrum" in Canada, they are just criminals.
The US Libertarian Party was pretty clear, not patriotism not protest, just criminal violence.
