Jim, a little more info on the five stocks that you mentioned last night:
VSNR 4 Insiders have been selling from May to Nov. at prices in the 3s.
GNTIY Investors seem to think that the company has been able to take care of its problems and is now ready to turn the corner. Reported losses were in line with recent management guidance. The company cited elongating sales cycles, insufficient salesforce resources and poor execution as the key problems that it has addressed.
IMCI One insider bought 52k in Nov. at prices just under and above $1.
MESA Investors were pleased with the management changes but there are a ton of problems in this company.
01/15/98 Jan. 13, 1998, Mesa Air Group Inc. (MESA) said that at a meeting on January 6 with representatives of United Air Lines Inc., a subsidiary of UAL Corp. (UAL), United confirmed that it will not renew WestAir Commuter Airline's code-sharing agreement scheduled to expire on May 31. MESA said United also declined to provide any increases in connecting fares or permit the company's Mesa Airlines subsidiary to decrease its level of service, and terminated all of Mesa Airlines' contract markets in the Pacific Northwest, effective Sept. 30, 1998. The company said it realizes that without United's assistance to improve operations, Mesa Airlines will "probably not" attain profitable operations in the Denver system. MESA said it "believes the long term viability of the Denver system is impaired." MESA said it would take a $72,100,000 loss provision for the fourth quarter, consisting of $26,300,000 to recognize impairment of the Denver intangible asset; $39,400,000 for the costs to sell or retire aircraft and related parts and equipment; and $6,400,000 for employee severance and other costs. |
