and its also a problem far beyond that, sure Twitter (and Facebook and others) are political and biased in how they apply their terms of use, and that's not good, but in the end its their service(s) and they should be able to kick people off. I'm not even so much focusing on Trump here, he's just the most prominent example

The bigger problem becomes when not just social media sites/apps start boycotting more and more of the political debate but when alternatives that are created as shutdown. Not just by hosting companies and app stores, but by payment processors and credit card companies. Cancel culture is toxic from the other organizations but when the financial system tries to shut out part of the political debate its particularly bad.

All of this is bad not just in terms of fairness and free speech (as a value not so much a right see - Message 33139807 for more on the distinction), but also because trying to shut up and shut down such things will make radicalism and violence more likely not less.
