Pretty hard to win a lawsuit against Amazon, whether you're legally right or not.
Years ago I referred someone to a pretty good litigation guy in Dallas on what looked (to my untrained eye) like an iron-clad case against UPS. He call me back and said, "Yeah, man we don't have a chance."

"What? They (UPS) ignored their own specific instructions and it cost my guy $20K (when $20K was real money)."

He said, "Yeah, but they're going to show up with 20 attorneys and it'll be me against them. No way."

As you said, waste of time.
