re: But are you saying that we would need to go where the power is?

Where are you thinking? The coasts where all the lefties are? Are you saying a regional EMP is there to punish Red States?

What about Nuclear Sites? they aren't hardened for EMP.

Can you elaborate on your thoughts just a little more. I don't think I completely see your big picture.

=================

First. Peter Pry, probably the top expert on EMP's has a regular show on WVW.tv,
there's tons of material there, some behind the pay wall, some public - I'd highly
recommend going there.

worldviewweekend.com

I've done a fairly good amount of research on EMPs. As far as our nuclear plants and sites,
that is the one area that my research has found that we've actually done more than has
been released publicly to enable safe shutdowns and prohibit a meltdown.

Now as far as traditional electrical power transmission, it is still significantly at risk
from an EMP attack as well as the vulnerability demonstrated by the Metcalf power station,
sniper attack (another subject) that Pry covers in detail.

My main point on EMPs, is that the most bang for the buck, is a release over the heartland,
keeping it regional, which would do enough damage to collapse the national economy, crush
transportation and supply lines, significantly take out food production and much of the meat
processing and packing facilities etc.

And to answer your question, yes, I believe the Deep State would use an EMP on
fly-over country if Trump did implement the insurrection act, or should a civil war
break out in resistance to Biden and the Dem's totalitarian agenda.

Politically, this is the largest concentration of pro-Trump and pro-gun supporters.
Here's a Red State vs. Blue State map by how counties voted: Here's the political
map of the USA...

And here's a geographic map showing the likely zones of impact from an EMP blast, you can
see how the first two circles would have a significant disproportionate impact on conservative
fly-over country.

FWIW, I'm pretty close to that red dot, dead center in the small
circle, which most believe would be the likeliest area of attack. But,
I can escape it with a 4-6ish hour drive in nearly any direction. The
key once again, would be quickly identifying it as an EMP attack and
having a pre-staged, exit plan and hitting the road within a couple of
hours max with enough fuel to make it out without stopping, including
planning for potential down time if caught in traffic at the perimeter.

One key fact regarding EMPs, is that Texas has the most secure
grid of any state, it is I believe the only self-sustained and self-contained
state-wide grid in the US. It would be one of my planned bug out locations
because of that, and for me, geographically it makes sense.

I also have the ability to head toward the great American
redoubt towards Boise, or to head SW quickly, via highway along the
coast to Florida, or straight north towards the Dakotas, Minnesota,
or straight East heading to Eastern Kentucky, Tennessee, West Va.
or up towards southern Indiana and Ohio. All areas that are pretty
conservative with plenty of rural areas.

I have some really solid friends in some of those areas, some less
solid, but welcoming friends and/or family in all those directions
and areas to a degree. Also, I won't be showing up empty handed.
Which is another key. Must have cash, gold, silver, enough freeze
dried food for a couple months, as well as guns & ammo to be a
positive addition to the security of where ever your final destination
will be. I know a lot of people are uncomfortable with having a
large (in the eye of the beholder obviously) amount of cash on
hand, but in a fast bug out situation, if credit card machines are down,
having cash along with your physical and well hidden stash of gold and
silver will give you some options at your final location even if you have to
rent some place for cash when/if the banking system is down, or if
people can't process credit cards. Don't underestimate the
importance of possessing a decent amount of cash and physical PMs
if the grid goes down.

Bottom line: After much, much research, talking to people like
the guys at Fieldcraft Survival (one of the best groups for
"Overland Vehicle" research and actual survival classes), along
with more than a few subject matter experts...

For my situation (yours may be different), I've decided to get out,
and get out first and fast and to relocate to another area.

Most agree, that if you don't get out ahead of the first wave,
you're not getting out. And shit turns into Kosovo around day 7-10,
possibly sooner as people run out of food, running water and
sewage and realize its an EMP.
GNG, you're probably familiar with PACE... that said, I realize
the key to my primary plan is quickly recognizing it as an EMP
attack, and being loaded and gone before anyone else even knows
what's happened.

I have come to the conclusion that in a regional EMP attack,
where I'm at, due to what I see as the long term effect of
such an attack - that getting out and getting out fast is
a no-brainer. This is also the recommendation of what
many acknowledge to be the top subject matter experts
in the field. Once again, the caveat being if you are far
enough off the grid and rural, have food, water, heat,
fuel and a group of people to protect your location (large
family, or possibly other family that come to you in the crisis),
that getting out and to an unaffected area is the move to make.

They all agree, that a lone-wolf scenario is the single most unlikely
way to actually survive. Either team up locally, or get out.

Should I not be able to get out fast, I also have plans
to shelter in place, with an alternative to getting to a
more remote semi-local location via vehicle, or even by bike
and/or backpack if I had to (obviously with a much, much
smaller load out... and hopefully being able to cache a
few items before leaving in order to possibly recover later.

I'll repeat, long term sheltering in place unless you're really
rural and off the grid with the ability to provide off-grid
power, heat and food is not a permanent solution.

There's lots of good (and some bad, pure BS) prepping sites.

Two books I really recommend are Jack Lawson's Civil Defense
Manual part I and II - this is the best book I've seen on prepping
especially if sheltering in place:

civildefensemanual.com

Another is Jonathon Hollerman's "Survival Theory,"
available on Amazon.

Both guys have military backgrounds and come highly endorsed.

I'd also suggest Selco's books and courses, following Matt Bracken
and Fernando Aguirre (FerFal) here (check out the weekly podcasts
they've held over the past year) as well as their books is a great resource.

youtube.com

And again, I reco the guys at Fieldcraft Survival for top tier "Overland Vehicle"
prepping and bug out tactics.

youtube.com

This is an endless subject, and much depends on the individual's situation.

Hope this helps,

SOTB

PS: Did anyone catch Steve Pieczenik on AJ today?

Credit to Alex, he basically called him out. Pieczenik
will either be able to write the back story to the most
incredible clandestine opp in the history of the world...

Literally, saving America.

Or, he'll never be heard from again and vilified forever
for being the biggest confabulist in modern history,
ie: a complete and total bullshit artist.

For the sake of America, I hope he's right, but given
what is clearly unfolding, I'm not buying his bullshit.

In less than a week, 3/4ths of the gurus in the
so-called patriot community and among the
gloom and doom crowd will be exposed as
complete bullshit artists and shunned for life,
because they've laid out way, way too much
as confirmed fact... when imho, all we've seen
is an orgy of people leapfrogging over one
another to see who can provide the latest
scoop, rumor and the biggest conspiracy theory.

Again, I hope and pray I'm wrong.
