I have a few questions about e-bills, Intuit and Checkfree. I enjoy this thread and I have shares of INTU and CKFR in my IRA, although not enought. ;^( Thought strongly about increasing my position in Checkfree when it dipped to 21.5 two days before earnings announcement.

My questions are, can I pay my bills through Quicken 98 if my bank doesn't participate? Can bill payments be setup without the banks participation. By that I mean I have an ATM card that goes thru the Visa network. I realize that I couldn't download my banking statements and do banking transactions. I can pay for my groceries and do most of my shopping were Visa is accepted with my bank card.

Would you explain to me what sequence of events have to be in place before I can pay my bills over the Internet? Is there an intermediary like Checkfree or Quicken that could receive my bills and I could log onto them and pay them with my ATM card? Are these dumb questions???

I'll give you a good reason why I would prefer to pay electronically. I pay 4, that's FOUR phone bills. Three of them to the same company. Cellular, pager and local to Ameritech. Long distance to AT&T. Ameritech won't accept one check for all of the bills. What I'm thinking of is if my bank doesn't offer bill paying, is there a way around them?
