Steve -- That's precisely my point. Except that I don't place much emphasis on death, but on suffering itself. I know that death should not have a negative meaning for a Christian; on the contrary, it means that the race its over. The core of my argument is suffering. Suffering itself should not mean much to a Christian either, because it did not mean much to God when he gave his only begotten son for us in a way which demanded much earthly suffering. Perhaps for you, my brother, neither death nor suffering mean much. But there are many other brothers and sisters which are going through very tough trials and tribulations (and I don't mean just not having a job, or having the flu) such as terminal cancer, with a lot of pain, or a very sick child, with leukemia, for example. People in those circumstances often question their own faith, which is normal to do, but at the end it is not the questioning what counts against us, but disobedience itself. If anyone "listening" is going through a deep tribulation phase in his/her life, remember, your tribulation is only temporary, as Jesus' tribulation was only temporary. The real world, our real homeland, is in Heaven. There, all our tears will be wiped out, and our suffering on earth will not mean much. Jesus is coming soon. Hold on and be faithful, one more day. Remember, Jesus loves you. C. Carlos |
