Free speech has always been regulated.

Used to be that TV and movie producers couldn't utter a swear word. The AIRWAVES have always been highly regulated they've just loosed the strings some.

You can't make threats on the internet, i.e. threats of physical violence or harm.

EX: about 20 years ago some guy on SI made a serious physical threat against me. He on the East coast I on the West --- nevertheless he likely knew where I lived and I had his phone number.

I did a screen shot of his threat, contacted local law enforcement. I told them I took the threat seriously and they needed to make a full report on it - I explained to them that I own firearms and that if the guy should ever show up on my doorstep to make good on his threat and then I called them to report his dead body -- that I wanted a record of my complaint on file.

They went further. The officer/deputy contacted the guy and then called me back and assured me that I would have no further problems. Then the guy publicly -- on the SI thread -- apologized and emphasized he would NEVER make a threat like that on the internet again.

Just look at SI -- its a trashy investment hangout with all sorts of loonies and cliques. Moderators controling the dialogue. For all intents and purposes you cant post on THE DONALD TRUMP PRESIDENCY if you present views contrary to their cult... same with woolychuncky's thread -- bears not welcome. Even this thread - which is very open - has 5 bans.

...and there are TOS that everyone has to abide by whether they like it or not. These companies are no different.

Try standing up in the middle of a movie in a theatre and crying FIRE!!! or shouting BOMB or worse I HAVE A BOMB in an airport and see what happens.

There will always be censorship.

I' m convinced that Armstrong can be wrong 53% of them but as long he has can spin story to tell and sell --- there will be those that buy it.
