Elmer, So you intriged enough by my idea of the possibility of Cpq buying AMD but rejected the concept. There is another possibility.
allow me to explain. If your cpq and long term enterprise outlook is not be tie youself to CPU design and manufacuring... If you follow Groves outline for the new businees model of non-verticle intergration layed out in Only the Parinod Survive. Cpq could upon completing the Dec merger sell all decs alpha technology to AMD on a long tern financing deal. Now because AMD is almost broke(stockman) and in debt over it's head(untrue). The deal could be cut for payment of interest in chips instead of interst in cash. AMD makes chips easier that it does cash so a barter agreement could work. AMD would be strenghtended, Cpq would benifit from exploiting the slave relationship with AMD, profit from the increase in is't AMD investment. Strenghten AMD competive position against Intel. And focus on it's core business Boxmaking leaving the chipmaking to others. since I don't expect you to grasp this perhaps others can feel free to coment on it. Have you broken out in a rash latly???
there read my idea
