Short Sales ..................

On CompusServe last week I caught an article indicating
that short sales of BIOX was at about 350,000 as of
1/15/98.

I have lost the information source so I cannot forward.

This level of short sales at this time is over my head.

(1) BIOX should report in the next 4 weeks.

(2) As you know, a boutique brokerage firm just praised
BIOX again, with a target of 40 for the next
6 months and 70 for the year.

A typical day of trades in BIOX is about 50-55 (000).

Given the upward volatility of this stock, I do not
understand the short-seller logic.

I would think that if BIOX reported anything higher than
$1.40 for the year, BIOX would go absolutely ballastic.

And, in a manner of speaking this is easy to do, because
AHP and them could have an agreement to ship X sales
for the 4th qtr. (This is SELL-IN as opposed to SELL-THRU)
i.e. Inventory build-up on AHP's part.

Any thoughts?

John McCarthy
