Negative Loose ends -

(1) Will BIOX ship to China in 1998?

They got distribution rights April, 1997.

Looks like I guessed wrong, and there will be no
deal with BAYER. In addition, BAYER maybe waiting
for ANIK with its OrthoVisc.

So, is BIOX planning to ship to China in 1998?

Do they have a distributior?

(2) There will be no SYNVISC shipments to the countries
covered by the BAYER agreement in 1998.

Australia clinicals has not begun.
New Zeland clinicals as not begun.

Not sure about Singapore and Tawain.

Therefore, there will not be any 1998 license fees.

(3) BIOX announced they got FDA Ok to test for Incontinence
i.e. urination problems.

This bothers me. I owned UROMED for awhile.
They are/were going after female incontinence.

This is a very tough market. NOBODY is successful in it.

UROMED, as I recall, had like 40 or 80 million in cash
and its first qtr. sales were like 230,000 dollars.
And then got worse!

I don't know how they are doing - now.

Currently, to my knowledge, there is no *nice* way to
market to this problem.

And, BIOX is not a marketing driven company.

If they had this product and were aligned with say a
P&G, this would make (more) sense.

(4) To my knowledge, BIOX is still not in Phase I for their
anti-adhesion market.

This is a legit $1Billion dollar market.

(5) Will BIOX set-up in the U.K. anytime soon. (Synvisc)

Wish they had used AHP for U.K. and Ireland.
We'd be there already.

(6) Medicare CPT codes. This is probably the most important
issue of 1998.

Regards,

John
