m, I have read and reread your post on books and without gushing like some schoolgirl, let me say this:
You have quite eloquently displayed a love of literature that nowadays we seldom see. What with, TV(wish I could get rid of the one-eyed monster) that sits in the corner glaring at me accusingly. The computer, which is really an insatiable taskmaster, if we let it, so dominate our lives. I still have a little corner of sanity left, but its difficult to find at times. Where do we find time to read anything?
I hope the younger generation doesn't grow up, only doing online searchs for anything they want to know. They will miss the adventure of immersing themselves in a book, becoming anyone they want to be, go anywhere they want to go.
Well, I guess in a chatroom they can become anyone they want to be, but I don't believe its the same thing at all.
One positive thing about being online, though talking with people, I have rediscovered my love of books, of learning new things. I feel renewed in a way.
Thanks again for the interesting post and discovery.
