Gabriel, I took a close look at the Dataquest and IDC preliminary reports. The IDC report is sloppy. Take a look at Table 3 and notice that DELL is missing and yet they are putting out worlwide rankings. Also, there are significant discrepancies with respect to Bell and IBM in both IDC and Dataquest. Alas.... it makes it just that much harder to model. It would be useful to come up with some way to measure the impact of the Asian flu on the cost of materials so that the gross margins can be better estimated. Perhaps these numbers can be backed out of the GTW or MUEI numbers. I am going to try to do this.
