On the mask issue, the date is Jun 20.

That is the day on which Fauci flipped from "No reason for well people to wear masks" to "Can't go outside without one."

A week or so before, Fauci had indicated there might be a change in policy coming. My immediate response was, "Oh, great, the science must have changed." So, I went looking.

The only change I could find was an instantaneous surge in decidedly non-scientific articles telling people they're better off wearing masks, with claims presented as though it were obvious to any informed person that a mask made of two layers of T-Shirt fabric will capture virus particles. I found articles offering ACTUAL science where the author was asked to change or remove his scientific study, and most did so. In some cases, working links from a couple weeks before become HTTP 404 (missing) pages. Disappeared like something Stalin might have done.

Today, I equate the science behind masks with that behind climate change. A science of accommodation.

Cargo Cult Science at its worst.
