Don't believe people think about it much, but all actions have consequences, good or bad.

If someone has $10,000 to invest, invests $1000 and makes $100, they will say they made 10%.

I don't see it that way. I figure they made 1%. 10% on invested, but 1% on investable funds.

Avg. cash last two days, $68,000. Account up 1.6% today. I figure it cost me $1088 in lost gains holding that cash.

It is actually more than that. Taking tonights total value, minus todays gain, gets me close to yesterdays value.
Minus the roughly $68,000 in cash, and divide that into todays gain = 1.756%. Times $68,000 = $1194.

Well, that's depressing. lol!!
