| | | My theory testing over the last couple of years has been going badly for me. My fundamental false premise was that irrational exuberance won't be off the planet irrational. It can be!
I mistakenly thought that reality would dawn on people and they'd reconsider. But too many don't. Dawn came. Sunrise gave way to lunchtime and afternoon wore on but there was not only no repentance but crowding conversions to mass hysteria.
So now my Tesla shorts are multiples destroyed, Aotearoa-Zimbabwe house prices are through the roof and going like a Falcon Heavy to Mars, and economic Mutual Assured Destruction by governments is accelerating like said Falcon.
That's without Taiwan giving up claim to China, and China insisting on claim to Hong Kong. And without Yank Tanks to Murmansk from Norway, and a Charge of the Light Brigade once again into Crimea. And Victoria Nuland once again ramping up war in Ukraine and forcing a MAD self defence by Russia. Not forgetting Iran's 2 bomb plan for Israel. And Pakistan's jihad against India.
Kim the Fatter will probably hunker down and hope nobody notices him.
People breathed a sigh of relief that 2020 went away. I'm more concerned that 2021 will be the Main Course. 2030 was nothing.
We'll soon know.
Meanwhile, Tesla is worth as much as the rest of the car industry. But a Tesla at present is no more than I imagined back in 1986, with wonky welding. I had a good look at a Tesla chassis on display at Tesla Auckland. The welds were perhaps done in training but they were not nice and smooth.
The car is just a huge battery, a couple of motors and car put on top. It's so heavy it needs big wheels and heavy suspension. Autopilot is not auto and lacks the brain of an ant, let alone a pilot. Anyone can make electric cars, and they are. BYD, Nio, Lucid, Porsche, Volvo, Toyota, Audi, Ford, GM, everyone.
Waymo Cruise and others are inventing ant brains good enough to steer cars.
Yes, I know Tesla also does photovoltaics, battery storage etc. But anyone can do those too = no monopoly pricing.
Meanwhile, Irrational Exuberance 3 Mq 0.
AND QCOM zoomed from my sale price of $116 to $166. That wasn't a loss but it was a gain not gained and dividends foregone.
During and after nuclear war, I won't be worried about Tesla, Qualcomm, houses, NZD vs USD. And Taupo might erupt 12 March. Silly NZ is still blathering on about the minuscule White Island eruption while world record Taupo is gathering steam to be BIG news with 200,000 dead and electricity and water supplies to Auckland gone for years.
