Good data sets to contemplate. It seems to me that Pollyanna and Goldilocks are the analysts making the estimates shown in the global 12 months consensus forward earnings growth chart. They could be correct, of course, but I doubt it.

In addition, much of the stock market thesis depends on the belief that the government debt can be repaid by the taxes generated from a fantastic future economy, or failing that, monetized through future inflation. What happens if, instead, governments start taxing the windfall investment profits of the investing class at a much higher rate?

Bubbles often last for years, but I am not aware of any that last forever.
