There was about $6 trillion before the virus (end of Q4 2019). The recession began in Feb 2020. Total debt under Trump is a little less than $8 trillion but we still don't have his last budget numbers, which is this year. When this year's numbers come in, we can drop his first year (Obama's last budget).
