The first amendment is neither very clear nor simple. If it were either, we wouldn't have decades of litigation interpreting it.

If what you are trying to get is the question whether I can agree with you that not all Supreme Court decisions are necessarily correct, why then, of course. I don't agree with many of the decisions.

In fact, in practice, I'm quite certain that I lost as many cases in court that I should have rightfully won as I won but should have rightfully lost. As Tribe said, "that's the way the cookie crumbles."

Just like the first amendment, nothing in the law is either "very clear or simple." If it was, there be no such thing as the "legal profession" and nothing to teach in law school. If it were clear, folks like you without any education in the law would always know the "right" answer.
