Commodore and CPQ are just two completely different companies and the timming environment (we do not have Internet , or super data high way twenty years ago) are all different, so what are you talking about to compare CPQ with Commodore? How do you know Steve will put his own money in Commodore if he worked there ? You are not Steve and had no right to speak for him , am I right ? No success is based on good luck. CPQ with DEC means a lot, CPQ is no more just a PC company , but a computing company with full line of products. As you know the profit margin on high end is much higher than PC, that is why its profit and growth will accelerate in the next couple of years. CPQ will compete in every product line with DEC on line, I think you may realize the revenue from NT and servers will bring to CPQ in the next couple of years, not to mention the continue growth of the PC and consumer (i.e PDA, hand held devices , will explode) electronics which will marry with PCs. PC is no more just a computing device for professionals, but will be just like TV, which will go to every family, because Internet, remote education, remote data access, remote vision shopping, remote banking ...etc , which will push 80% of penetration rate into the US family in the next couple of years. I hope you understand and have the vision, we are in an erra of IT revolution, with at least one PC in every family, all people will benefit from the fruit of technology development. Personally, I think CPQ/INTC/MSFT will hold good alliance for the long term. As to GWT, DELL, ..etc, if they do not act quick, two years down the road, they will all be dead cats, and CPQ will eat their lunch.
So, pls stop talking about nonsense on this thread and I show no respect to fools !!! |
