I never realised so many people read Canadian geographic, or does everyone just look at the pictures.
In my opinion alot of people see the diamond mines as a cash cow and jump on the band wagon of supporting them or argueing against them for their own motives. Some of the concern of course are valid but alot of it is grandstanding. As a comparison more prime farm land is turned into parking lots in a year in a big city then all the mines in the NWT have ever occupied or impacted upon.
