AAL up over $25.50 right now premarket, from 16.56 close yesterday. And flying still higher it seems. At least, flying around. On over 23m shares!

Correction: over 27 now.

A bit of insanity on Wall Street. No doubt enabled by such low interest rates. Or even negative rates in Europe.

EDIT: one minute later, over 29. Clearly shorts trying to cover. Aaaannnnndddd it just briefly hit 30 before backing off. Incredible. 25% short interest on AAL, according to Bloomberg.

Second EDIT: But according to this site, Days to Cover on AAL is only 2.0.

Third EDIT: Just looking at many of the domestic airlines, they are all sharply up, although not as much as AAL. AAL is now "down" to $26 and change.
