"To halt new oil and gas development on federal lands". Sounds like a noble cause, Chuck, but I ain't buying it.

So why shut down the Keystone pipeline, then? That oil was being drilled in Canada, not the US. The pipeline was just a means of delivering oil drilled elsewhere to the US.

Now I have a funny feeling that there may be more behind shutting down the pipeline than meets the average persons eye. But I'm sure it hasn't eluded you.

Now lets see. Who is it that owns the railroad that ships the majority of oil from Canada into the United States? Oh yes, Warren Buffet. His railroad charges $30 a barrel. The pipeline, as estimated by the US State Department and the Department of the Interior, would cost roughly $10 a barrel. That would put a big dent in Warren Buffet's approximately $2 billion that his railroad makes a year shipping oil into the US.

So, I have to ask myself a question. Does the President, and you, Senator, really believe that killing the pipeline is in the best interest of the American people? Or is it really all about protecting the profits of the Democratic parties richest and most generous contributor? I myself believe it is the latter.
