Well, the volatility is what causes the margin requirement to go up, so one causes the other. Your 2nd point is the one that is the bigger issue. They didn't force people to sell. What happened is they did not allow them to buy. That's the point that can be litigated, IMO. I'm sure they have an out in their user agreement for that too.
