It's a matter of semantics. If I tell you that you won't get back in once you leave the apartment, am I forcing you to pack your bags and leave? Technically I didn't make you do anything. But in reality I evicted you on the street. They should have provided proper notice grace period for raising the margin (and not disallowing it all together)
