I wonder what is the particularly good thing in the WDC results? Gross margins are about flat with June 2020 quarter levels while NAND prices are declining, so WDC's cost reductions are keeping up with price declines. Ok.

But gross margins are only 26%.

Revenues down from last year at this time.

I doubt WDC is gaining share, and profitability is flat, not improving.

I don't see why anyone would want to own a company with such large disk drive exposure, and where there's no guarantee that the WDC disk drive that gets replaced by an SSD gets replaced by a WDC SSD. Since their market share in disk drive is larger than their market share in SSD, this transition from disk drive to SSD has got to be a perpetual share loser for WDC.

I'd prefer MU to WDC. Both have NAND, and DRAM has got to be a better place to be than disk drives.
