Doubt you may, but they are in fact gaining share.

With declining year on year sales, it's doubtful WDC is gaining share. Do you think the memory market is shrinking and WDC is shrinking slower than the market?

As for profitability, earnings exceeded expectations by over 30%

Last year gross margins were 25.9%, this year 26.4%. So gross margins are up by half a percent, while sales declined 7%, compared to last year. Gross margin dollars declined. It's going the wrong way.

As for disk drives, talk to any data center and see how long they expect these to be around. They aren't going anywhere anytime soon.

My understanding is disk drives sales are scheduled for annual declines, in perpetuity. No? I don't think WDC breaks out disk versus SSD anymore, but I think disk revenues will shrink or at best be flat for years and year and years. DRAM is a lot more interesting than legacy disk drives.
