OK. I've had prolonged stays in tents due to bad weather. This was sort of like all of them combined, but without anybody to talk to. Don't have a clue about what's happened in the world in the last week, nor even my county.
I got about a foot of snow, beginning Tues AM. Power went out about 4. There were 60 poles down between here and Willits, 22mi?, most of them prolly where there's a stretch of 2 lane hiway N of Willits, a place we call Icebox Canyon. Lots of trees along it. I lost some limbs. Thought one took out my solar connection,when landed on a pole . I got lucky; the line, like a good defense, bent, but didn't break. The kids lost some greenhouses here; don't know about the other grows.
When I called Bud Wed AM to tell them to delay shopping, he was at Tahoe.Not sure if he's back. He told me there were people sleeping in cars in town, cuz 101 was closed. Don't know how long it took to remove all the debris.
This is gonna put a serious crimp in our vaccination program. I'm guessing that they didn't do any Tues, and prolly still not today, cuz of communication problems. That's a shame.
