that is really quite amazing.. I never did think about that in those terms but one of the things to bear in mind is that in account there is no revaluation of fixed assets in united states so land and buildings are almost always significantly undervalued on the balance sheets. Perhaps a more useful valuation of the s&p 500 would be to see it as a multiple of free cash flow over time. anyone have a chart of that?
