<<.oversea markets are up HUGE>>

Really! Lots of reasonably good news today, rupiah trading in the 9700-10600 range, Korea talking about selling KIA to West, and a front-page story in NYTimes about Asia opening up to Western investment. GM talking to Daewoo.

You know, this Asian thing could be masking a more basic problem in the semi equipment area. It could be that we have just reached the normal downturn in the cycle and that the Asian currency problems only precipitated the correction to the down side, rather than causing it. Analysts are certainly talking more about "overcapacity" at this point than about the inability of Asian semi fabs to make necessary purchases.
