Just use windows Task Manager, hit more details, Performance, select the ethernet card you want to measure, then transfer a big file. It will show you the transfer rate. I have found that transfers on your local network will almost always approach the advertised speed of the card. So you do get 1Gbps transfers if the cards, and your switch/routers support it...
