Gingrich told President Clinton that if he raised taxes we'd go into a deep recession and have record deficits. He was wrong. Tax increases gave us balanced budgets and a booming economy. History remembers the people who were right, not those who were wrong. A hundred years from now, no one will have a clue who Gingrich was but they'll remember Clinton being the last and only president to balance the budget year after year after year.
