PI at Goldman notes - 2/11/21

This was very focused on a futuristic look at the marketplace and use cases for RAIN RFID. It is 40 minutes and I highly recommend it. It doesn't really lend itself to notes or a review, especially since many of the current things discussed were covered last night on the earnings call.

- While they don't have a competitor in the total RAIN solution market, they do see competition for specific parts of it. NXP is their main competitor in end ICs. No mention of Alien, they seem to have fallen off the map. They have some competitors in the reader IC market, mostly from small Asian companies at the low performance end. Main reader competitor is Zebra.

- They emphasized services again. They said they haven't announced any yet but are working on them, they will require the new M700/R700 products. CEO gave an example. The M700 has the capability to hold a cryptographic key, which could be used to authenticate brands/products. I think we are going to hear a lot more about the services enabled by the M700/R700, the analyst picked up on it from yesterday and was already asking for more information today.

- If you frame the TAM as every product that is sold, they estimate they are at .2% penetration. Trillions of items per year are ripe for RAIN.
