Ed,

If you look at recent retail prices of SDRAM DIMMs, you have
to conclude that these prices are too high. I purchased one 32 MByte
DIMM in December and a second in January. Lets assume that DIMM
assembly, DIMM test, and distribution margins (wholesale and retail)
only amount to $10.


Single purchases of 32mb SDRAM modules is far from a valid study of module prices. I think you are just muddying up the waters. Especially Retail prices can vary for 0 to $100 depending on where you go and the type of product you are buying. Remember Compusa was giving away memory for free over Christmas holidays.
