Alert! Spontaneous Generation.

After carefully checking the sky for sea gulls, and finding none, I placed some food out for my neighbors cat (they don't feed him, and he's de-nutted, so this should not displease John Galt). Before I reached the door, there appeared from nowhere 8 sea gulls to compete for the food. The swiftest and most and most agile made off with the prize, with the losers wasting enegy in hot pursuit.

Perhaps this is evidence of both spotanious generation and evolution. Or is this an example of life traveling here from another dimension? A parallel Universe? Weak eyes?
