Trump is already excited about 2022. Sure he wasn't convicted by law (required 67, got 57), but in court of public opinion and w/respect to history he was by a simple majority. This will eventually be seen for the serious event that it was. Sam Harris again has good commentary on those trying to compare BLM riots to Jan 6th. Trump is loser for the republicans and loser for this country. Republicans had a chance to banish, but too afraid Trump's party would eventually kill republicans as a whole. Can see him being helpful in some races in 2022 sure, but as a movement it's a dead end w/him in charge.

Sore loser Trump. First president to try to overthrow democracy itself because he didn't like the result. That's what history will focus on. The big lie will die off over time just as there are fewer people who believe all school shootings are done by crisis actors - unfortunately still out there, but hopefully getting more and more discredited. Supposedly admitted to some in the inner circle that he knew he lost. Can call it fake news but I strongly suspect this will get corraborated over time. Either way we have a process called the courts. Some say he didn't really get his chance but they are certainly not more knowledgable than Cruz who made a number of comments in Nov that confirmed the eventual result that Trump received in court.
