Also, I'm very encourage that a person of your age has such excellent English and grammar skills. I had just about given up on those educated after 1960.

Thanks, Jack. I'm a product of good public schools, with the exception of my college (good but private), and my mom's a teacher. She whupped us good when we said things like "raise up" (Redundant! Go to your room!).

Don't decide not to give up just yet. Many of my friends are among the worst grammar offenders I know. But at least I've learned to shut up about it.
