Tenchu's Thoughts: "I caN destroY yoU"

I'm actually surprised that CNN, the network of Fredo Cuomo, would publish a story like this:

CNN - Cuomo said 'he can destroy me': NY assemblyman alleges governor threatened him over nursing homes scandal

I highly recommend that you read the story for yourself. My thoughts below are based on the reader already knowing the story beforehand.

Orange Man Bad

After all this outrage over Trump and his demands for loyalty, after all of the stories detailing how Trump tried to retaliate against anyone who dared to go against his wishes, we now see that such assholish behavior was never confined to Trump.

Nor did it go away with Trump getting impeached forever (and twice, I might add).

Nor did it go away with Trump stepping down from office and staying away from politics for a while.

Cuomo was supposed to be the left's attack dog to fend off the rabid Trump hounds. Even his attorney general was supposed to unseal 67 indictments against Trump the moment he stepped down from office.

Now look at the guy. He's no different than Trump. I knew it from the get go, but Cuomo did just a wonderful job acting like such a strong leader in the face of a pandemic. He even won an Emmy award for his efforts, while Trump acted like a complete doofus.

The thing is, I don't fear the despots who are quite obvious in their intentions and incompetence. Instead, I fear the despots who have the vast majority of the nation fooled and have some measure of competence in invoking their "right" to rule over us.

"you'rE lyinG I haS threE witnesseS"

Funny how Cuomo's spokeshole said that Assemblyman Ron Kim was lying and that Cuomo has "three witnesses to the conversation."

Really?

Do all those witnesses work for Cuomo? Are they free to speak their minds, or will they get fired if they say anything that Cuomo doesn't want them to say?

And what would Ron Kim get out of lying? He's a progressive Democrat from Queens, so you can't accuse him of doing the bidding of Republicans.

In fact, I would surmise that Ron Kim has MUCH more to fear from Dicktator Cuomo. It wouldn't surprise me if a couple of strange men in a car started staking out Ron Kim's residence. The assemblyman has three young daughters, and I'm sure that Cuomo's henchmen will try and squeeze Ron Kim where he feels most vulnerable.

"buT buT NAIL SALONS!"

Another thing that Dicktator Cuomo said was that he has a "long and hostile relationship" with Ron Kim that dates back to 2015, when the state was passing legislation regarding nail salons. According to the Dicktator, Ron Kim initially supported the legislation, but then later opposed, and cited some NYTimes article pointing out a financial contribution that nail salons gave to Ron Kim.

I have no interest in seeing whether that NYTimes article is credible or not, because this is a VERY petty reason to oppose the Dicktator.

I mean, think about it. Nail salons? Let's say that's true, and Ron Kim doesn't like Cuomo because of that nail salon thing.

Is that REALLY a believable motive for Ron Kim to lie about Cuomo claiming that "he will destroy him"?

Is Ron Kim REALLY going to lie and put his family's safety on the line for nail salons?

Gee, those nail salons must be SOOOO profitable that Ron Kim is getting a ton of money from them. (Maybe those nail salons are a front for some shady business, right? Some regulars on this thread probably assume so, given what they think about female Asian business owners.)

A Question of Credibility

So when you have two parties in a "he said, he said" situation, you need to look at the credibility of both parties.

And quite frankly, Dicktator Cuomo's credibility is looking pretty shitty at the moment.

But don't take my word for it. Elsewhere in the CNN article is the following:

*******

Kim is not the only lawmaker to have received fierce pushback and even threats from Cuomo and his top aides since last week, according to three additional Democratic New York lawmakers. All spoke to CNN under the condition of anonymity because they were afraid of retribution from the governor.
They said the administration had aggressively lobbied legislators to speak up in support of his handling of the nursing homes-related deaths, and that threats were made against those who are considering a vote to strip Cuomo of his emergency powers.
All three legislators said they were aware of outreach from the governor in which he clearly suggested or explicitly threatened political retaliation if they did not stand by him. One of them, a New York state senator who said they had not been contacted by Cuomo but heard directly from multiple colleagues whom Cuomo had reached out to, said the governor threatened those colleagues with retaliation -- including warning some that he could ruin their political careers if they supported weakening Cuomo's executive powers.
In other cases, the administration was persistent in asking lawmakers to come to Cuomo's defense, including by releasing supportive statements regarding last week's virtual meeting.

*******

Once again, I remind you that this is CNN, the news network of Fredo Cuomo, and who up until recently has been nothing but supportive of Dicktator Cuomo's administration.

It's Not the Crime, It's the Cover-up

Finally, I wanted to say something about the nursing home scandal by Dicktator Cuomo's regime.

Personally I think in the initial months of the pandemic, when New York was the epicenter, it may have been an honest mistake to tell senior citizens who were infected with the coronavirus to remain in nursing homes. There was a lot we didn't know about COVID-19 back then, especially the vulnerability of senior citizens. New York hospitals may have been overwhelmed at the time (or not, but let's assume they were). So there may have been a valid reason to keep elderly COVID-19 patients in nursing homes, because at least nursing homes have professionals who can take care of these patients.

Of course now we know that was a mistake.

Here's the thing. Gov. Cuomo could have diffused the entire situation just by coming clean, admitting the error, apologizing to all of the families who lost loved ones during the initial surge, and committing to learn from that mistake. Let the Internet trolls continue to hound him for that mistake. The media, which is no doubt left-wing, would have given Cuomo a second chance.

But he didn't. Instead he covered up the truth. He tried to reduce the death toll in nursing homes. Even the state DA, Letitia James, had to uncover the facts.

(Which kind of begs the question: Did Dicktator Cuomo force Letitia James into investigating Trump so that she wouldn't have time to investigate the nursing home scandal? Enquiring minds want to know.)

That tells you what kind of character Dicktator Cuomo has. That tells you that he really is no different than Trump, Putin, Xi Jinping, and all of the other boogeymen of the past four years.

I'm glad this is coming to light in the news. Now let's see what happens to Dicktator Cuomo's political future, and if his blatant mafia-like tactics will succeed or fail.
