Here's Rambus' answer to a question posted by a Mootley Fools threader:

Thanks for sending us the article you found in Windows Magazine. I shared
it with our marketing group.

It's impossible for us to educate everybody who thinks they have an
authoritive view of the semiconductor industry. The author of this story is
a good example of a writer who doesn't have all the facts (or keep up
them). Kind of surprising since Rambus has tremendous momentum in the media
and building more every week.

The SLDRAM (www.sldram.com/index.html) effort has been around for a couple
of years now. As to whether they represent a bonafide threat to Rambus,
look at the memory roadmaps of the world's major DRAM manufacturers. Let me
know if you find anything in their plans to roll out SLDRAM.

As for FRAM, it looks like the main application is going to be "smart
cards", or intelligent credit cards. Compared to Rambus memory this is
extremely low speed technology that is in a totally different class of
storage device. Check out their website at ramtron.com.

Dan, you should also recognize that as a spokesperson for a public company,
I'm very limited in what I can comment on. Personally, if I felt threatened
by some of the stories I see in the media, I wouldn't have this job (or
hang on to my Rambus stock).

Thanks for your support.

Again: I think he's right - Intel has made their choice and Rambus will probably see a stronger growth in Royalties Revenue than earlier anticipated
